New Boulevard, New Entrance

The most visible, recent development of VISION 2000 is the construction of a boulevard that serves as the primary entrance to St. Louis University High School. Accessible via the SLUH/St. Louis Science Center entrance from Oakland Avenue, this new four-lane thoroughfare leads students and parents to the SLUH parking lot, as well as a drop-off/pick-up turnaround area.

Important items to keep in mind while adjusting to the new entrance for both students and parents follow:

Students
All students will park in the new parking lot between SLUH and the St. Louis Science Center. This lot is accessible by entering the right lane of the SLUH/St. Louis Science Center entrance from Oakland Avenue and making a right on the boulevard. Students are not allowed to park in the neighborhood. After school, students will exit at the south end of the parking lot heading west on Wise to Macklind. Caution is needed when turning onto Macklind.

Parents
All drop-offs and pick-ups will occur at the new turnaround, which is accessible by entering the left lane of the SLUH/St. Louis Science Center entrance from Oakland Avenue and making a left onto the new boulevard. No unattended parking is permitted in the turnaround area. The turnaround is the ONLY area for drop-offs and pick-ups (no drop-offs or pick-ups should take place in the neighborhood, in the alley, on Oakland or on the faculty parking lot on Oakland).

A new three-way stop sign will be installed at the SLUH/St. Louis Science Center entrance on Oakland in the near future. Parents should exercise caution when exiting from dropping off or picking up students, as there is no stop sign at this juncture.
