ACT Recognizes SLUH for Performance

The American College Testing (ACT) organization recognized St. Louis University High School on March 15th at its annual conference in Columbia for the impressive performance of SLUH's class of 2006. SLUH was only one of a few high schools in the State of Missouri to have had one or more students achieve a score of 36 on the ACT.

Remarkably, four students from SLUH’s graduating class of 2006 earned a 36 on the ACT. These young men achieved more than the average number of perfect ACT scores per state for the Class of 2005, which was 3.8. Equally as impressive, they achieved more perfect ACT scores than the Class of 2005 achieved in 36 states. Fewer than 300 students nationwide typically achieve this score each year.

In the recent past, a total of eight SLUH students have achieved a score of 36 on the ACT. Stephen Schumacher '08 is the most recent student to achieve this feat. These students include:

  • Matt Ampleman (Class of 2006)

  • Paul Barker (Class of 2005)

  • Timo Kim (Class of 2006)

  • Micah Manary (Class of 2007)

  • Andrew Schroeder (Class of 2006)

  • Stephen Schumacher (Class of 2008)

  • Todd Swift (Class of 2007)

  • Joel Westwood (Class of 2006)

"St. Louis University High School attracts very bright, talented young men," says Mary Schenkenberg, SLUH Principal. "When they meet our outstanding faculty, something special happens. It certainly shows up in our academic program, but we’ve had plenty of State Championships as well, including six in the last four-and-a-half years. And beautiful things happen spiritually at SLUH. Genuine spiritual leaders graduate each May to carry the mission to their college campuses. We are extremely proud of all of them."
