Jr. Bills Win Black History Knowledge Bowl

St. Louis University High School recently won the fifth annual St. Louis Metropolitan Black History Knowledge Bowl at Harris-Stowe State College. This achievement marks the second time the school has won the event in the past three years.

SLUH went undefeated throughout the competition and produced the top three highest scoring players. The team consisted of Malik Brown ’09, Mahdi Grady ’11, C. David Jones ’09, Marcus Wright ’10 and Joe Zanaboni ’09. Zanaboni was the top scoring individual with 170 total points. Jones and Brown rounded out the top three with 115 and 110 points respectively.

"Our guys did all the work," says team coach Tom Zinselmeyer. "I am very fortunate to have very bright and dedicated individuals who love to compete as a team."

The annual Black History Knowledge Bowl is an event held each year on the third Friday in February. The event seeks to bring schools together in an effort to encourage friendly and scholarly competition in the field of Black History.
