Sophomore Pianist Continues to Excel
Dominic Cheli, an accomplished pianist and sophomore at SLUH, can now add one more award to his growing resume. After placing third at a national piano competition in Denver earlier this year, Cheli placed second at the International Institute for Young Musicians' (IIYM) Piano Competition at the University of Kansas on July 7th.
In addition to placing second against competitors from Hong Kong, Korea and various states through the U.S., Cheli also won the Audience Prize. This prize is awarded to the performer who received the most votes from the audience.
Dominic has been studying piano for nine years and regularly performs throughout the St. Louis region. He also donates his time to play for a variety of charitable organizations.
