Senior’s Photography Adorns Campus Ministry
A stunning display of 14 spiritually-themed, SLUH-related photographs was recently installed in the Campus Ministry office. What appears to be award-winning work of a professional photographer is that of none other than senior Zac Boesch.
"The Campus Ministry series is a kind of capstone for Zac," says theology teacher Matt Sciuto, who works closely with students in photography. "There are a lot of challenges to doing these. The series manifests his ability, creativity and persistence."
Boesch has had numerous photographs published in Sisyphus, the school’s magazine of literature and art, over the past few years. He also covers a variety of SLUH events and contributes widely to the Prep News and yearbook.
"As a student photographer, Zac has been amazing," says Sciuto. "He enjoys taking photographs and I think he reads a lot and learns by experimenting."
"Everyone who views Zac's photographs is wowed by their professional quality and artistry," says Director of Community Service Colleen Rockers, who was at the forefront of the project. "Personally, his art makes my heart sing."
In addition to Boesch’s proficiency in photography, his character, selflessness and humble personality have been duly noted by his peers and mentors. Last week, he was honored with the Ed Hawk Memorial Award, which annually recognizes the senior who "through his love and dedication to St. Louis University High School, and through his example of working and giving, was most able to influence his class toward success by cooperation and unity."
Alumni, family and friends of SLUH are welcome to stop by the Campus Ministry office to see and enjoy the unique work of Boesch.
